Jo Mayer – Producer/Director
Jo Mayer is an eight-time Emmy nominee for her work in television as a director of photography and lighting director. She graduated from Smith College with degrees in economics and sociology.
While pursuing a career in lighting design, she also worked on Capitol Hill as a researcher/speechwriter and taught at the University of Michigan's Dept. of Natural Resources before being hired by John Houseman's Acting Company as an assistant stage manager and tour lighting director.
She designed for the theater in New York (winning an Audelco award) and around the country before segueing into television working for major networks, entertainment and production companies in New York and Los Angeles.
She is featured in the Focal Press publication, Cinematographers on Their Art. In addition to her lighting work, she has formed a production company and has optioned properties for future development.
Jeanne Suggs - Producer/Director
Jeanne Suggs’s career as a Producer/Director spans the fields of dance, direct response advertising, children’s education, and dramatic features. She produced and directed three technique videos (Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced, 90 -120 minute each) of the dance techniques of Lester Horton and Martha Graham.
She produced the feature film Calling It Quits with Dennis Boutsikaris, the film short, ICE with Kevin Corrigan and line produced the feature, Lost Cat Corona with Ralph Macchio.
For children, she produced the 24-part series Hard Hat Harry’s Real Life Adventures and the educational/exercise series for schools, Activity Works. In advertising she developed a specialty in direct response with such clients as MasterCard, Columbia House, TimeLife and Disney.
